Lighting Projects

The Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation researched and identified a significant number of lighting fixtures that can be replaced to save more than 60% of electrical consumption per fixture. Replacing lighting fixtures venue-wide will ultimately save thousands of kW/h in electricity, continuing to save on natural resources.

Lighting fixture replacements have been identified and a multiyear project is underway to swap out to LED lights.

In 2010, the Bowl moved to low-watt bulbs including CFL’s, but we are committed to pushing more aggressively to extremely low-wattage fixtures. In 2014, we made additional major lighting improvements: 2014 Lighting Overhaul at the Bowl.

The Facilities Committee and crew will keep the same high-standard of aesthetics when changing by matching a warm-temperature Kelvin rating venue-wide.
